Sovere is the perfect starting point for exploring an area nestled between the peaks of the Borlezza Valley and the waters of Lake Iseo. Here are our tips for making the most of the area.
1. The Village of Lovere (5 minutes)
Just a few kilometers from Sovere is Lovere, officially one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy."
Don´t miss: A stroll along the lakeside at sunset, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Valvendra, and the Accademia Tadini, home to masterpieces by Canova.
2. The Valle del Freddo Nature Reserve
A unique natural phenomenon: here, at just 360 meters above sea level, typical high-altitude plants (such as edelweiss) grow thanks to icy air currents rising from the ground.
Ideal for: A rejuvenating walk immersed in the silence of nature.
3. The Castro Ravine and the "tradù"
For those who love breathtaking views, the road that runs along the lake toward Castro offers spectacular views of sheer rock faces plunging into the water (the famous Ravine). An incredible natural photo opportunity.
4. Hikes on Monte Alto
If you want to work off the delicacies you tasted after the cooking class, the trails starting from Sovere lead to Monte Alto. From the summit, you can enjoy a 360° view encompassing the entire Lake Iseo and the Camonica Valley.
5. The Sanctuary of the Madonna della Torre
Located in Sovere, this sanctuary offers a privileged view of the town and the valley. It is a place of absolute peace, perfect for those seeking a moment of reflection or a panoramic photo.
